What is Social and Emotional Learning?
SEL (social emotional learning) tutoring targets the skills of emotional regulation, responsible decision making and setting and attaining goals (study skills). Research studies offer evidence that SEL leads to higher academic performance and confidence. These skills are also in high demand in the workforce.
SEL tutoring is NOT clinical therapy.
SEL is a crucial aspect of a child's education, as it helps them develop essential skills for success in school and in life. Mastering SEL can lead to improved academic performance, better relationships, and enhanced emotional well-being.
Teaching children how to identify and manage their emotions is a fundamental aspect of SEL. By equipping them with coping strategies and stress management techniques, they can navigate challenges and setbacks with resilience and adaptability. Children can learn effective communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills, which are essential for building and maintaining positive connections throughout their lives.
Mastering Social Emotional Learning is an ongoing process that requires collaboration between educators, parents, and the community. By prioritizing SEL in education, we can empower children to navigate the complexities of the modern world with confidence, empathy, and resilience.
