Jess Krook, M.Ed., Orton Gillingham Tutor
I have over 23 years of experience teaching children from Kindergarten through 5th grade. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist (K-12). Early in my teaching career, I discovered that helping students learn to read brings me the most joy—it's truly my passion, not just a profession.
I love assessing my students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, then tailoring lessons to meet their individual needs. The most rewarding moment is when that "lightbulb" goes off and they feel a sense of accomplishment! I also strive to make my lessons engaging and interactive.
Currently, I work as a Reading Specialist, supporting students in grades K-5 during the day. After school I provide tutoring services for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I’m always eager to grow as an educator by staying up-to-date with the latest research in reading instruction. I have extensive training, including Orton Gillingham (Comprehensive Plus and Morphology Plus) through IMSE, Wilson, Fundations, SPIRE, the Science of Reading, Heggerty, and Keys to Literacy.

Ari Tanguay. M.Ed., Orton Gillingham Tutor
I have 10 years of teaching experience. My first eight years were spent as a classroom teacher in grades K-2, and the past two years as a reading specialist for grades 1-5. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (grades 1-6) and a Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist (K-12). I have Massachusetts teaching licenses in Early Childhood, Elementary, and as a Reading Specialist (all levels). I am trained in Orton Gillingham (Comprehensive and Morphology), Fundations, SPIRE, the Science of Reading, and Heggerty.
One of my favorite parts of working as a reading specialist is working with students to apply phonics not only in reading but to their spelling as well. My goal is to foster the relationship of hearing sounds and encoding them to spell correctly to express an idea, and visually recognizing phonetic patterns in words to read accurately to comprehend information. The intricacies of literacy are my passion that keeps me constantly learning and working to grow children confidence as knowledgeable literate students.
